Here's a little bit more about me!

Origin story

After graduating high school in 2015, I took a gap year to pursue a career in freelance filmmaking, which ended up taking me to Iraq to document humanitarian NGO activities, filming wedding videos, and up on stage with some of my favorite bands.

During that time I became interested in software design, because I understood how the user experience of video production tools impacted my own productivity. New workflows could unleash new possibilities.

As I sought to break into the software industry, I worked a job as a Land Surveyor at an construction engineering firm, which invigorated my interest in the design and UX of mapping and GIS software.

In 2020, I was hired at ParkHub working as a Product Designer helping them to build out a design system, build a suite of business intelligence tools for clients and our internal teams, improve the UX of our mobile point of sale iOS app, and train up an incoming junior Product Designer in all of these things.

In 2022, I moved to New York City and contracted as a Product Design Consultant with several other companies ranging from Saturday which is a consumer social app to more B2B SaaS for the Real Estate Industry with RevolutionRE.

In July of 2023, I began working at Whop. We rapidly iterated and designed brand new surfaces, such as a Developer Dashboard, a new Business Dashboard (for creators), and a brand new "Hub" experience which made our "Apps" more easily accessible and more engaging for creators and their users. Basically each Hub is a more robust version of Discord; instead of being powered by a bunch of text channels, each "channel" is actually a fully featured application. So you'd have a forums app, chat app, website embed, etc.

As of May 2024, Whop and I parted ways. I wish the team all the best, they're building a very exciting thing. But first and foremost, I'm excited for what's next.

My future

I'm currently on the hunt for Product Design roles in the NYC area. I'm interested in the following industries and technologies:

High societal impact such as …

Knowledge Management / Wikis (MediaWiki, Notion, Obsidian, etc.)

Mapping (OpenStreetMap, MapBox, etc.)

Payments / Financial (Stripe, Square, PayPal, Cake Wallet, etc.)

Creator Economy (Patreon, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

I'm also looking at Emerging Technologies such as …

Cryptocurrency / Wallets / Web3

Decentralization

Decision Support Systems (DSS)

Automation

Artificial Intelligence
